TALKING EXHIBITION

‘Talking Exhibition’은 호랑가시나무창작소가 매년 운영하는 개념 기반 프로그램으로, 말과 텍스트만으로 이뤄지는 특별한 형식의 전시입니다. 소통의 가장 본질적인 수단인 언어를 통해 예술가들은 자신과 자신의 작업, 그리고 예술을 둘러싼 생각들을 자유롭게 나누며, 관객과 참여자 모두가 평면적이지 않은 교류의 장을 경험하게 됩니다. 이 프로그램은 레지던시 작가들이 자신의 작업 세계와 아이디어를 발화하고, 서로의 작업에 대해 의견을 나누며 보다 깊이 있는 이해를 도모하는 것을 목표로 합니다. 나아가, 호랑가시나무창작소의 레지던시 프로그램에 대한 비평적 고찰과 실험적 제안이 함께 논의되는 열린 구조를 지향합니다. 참여자는 개인 또는 팀 단위로 리서치 프로젝트를 제안할 수 있으며, 이를 말과 텍스트라는 매개를 통해 공유하고 토론하는 과정 자체가 전시가 됩니다. 물리적 결과물 없이도 예술적 사유와 실천이 충분히 드러날 수 있음을 보여주는, 호랑가시나무창작소만의 실험적 전시 방식입니다.

Talking Exhibition is an annual concept-based program presented by Horanggasy Creative Studio, where the exhibition unfolds entirely through words and text. By using the most fundamental tools of communication—speech and writing—this unique platform encourages artists to share their ideas, thoughts, and practices in a free and open dialogue. Rather than focusing on visual outcomes, the program centers on verbal and textual exchanges. Artists introduce their work and artistic perspectives, engage in mutual feedback, and explore new ways of understanding and expanding the residency program itself. It is a space where discussion becomes the exhibition. Participants may also propose individual or collaborative research projects, using language as a medium to articulate inquiries and insights. In doing so, Talking Exhibition offers a space where the process of conversation itself becomes a form of artistic practice—highlighting the value of reflection, dialogue, and conceptual exploration beyond the material.
